The name Darjeeling translates to “Land of the Thunderbolt,” derived from the Tibetan words Dorje (thunderbolt) and Ling (place or land). The region’s first commercial tea plantations were established in the 1850s, where the tea plants thrived in the fertile local ecosystem.
The earthy and floral aroma of this tea is perfectly complemented by a full-bodied, rich flavor. Subtle fruit notes and a mild astringency create a delightful brew on their own, though a touch of sugar or honey can enhance its naturally sweet undertones.
